When I first saw Jason animating so fast in Flipbook, I decided to adopt the same workflow. But as I was not a 2D animator, I couldnt really understand the construction of this simple character. It was harder for me to pose it in Flipbook than in Maya. Same problem many of my friends faced. So this is a short tutorial dedicated to this easy guy who seems not so easy to some of us. This guy is adaptation to JRs 2D style so many thanks to him for this wonderful workflow.

This is not exactly how i draw in general but did this one in a bit elaborated way. Sketching a lot these days .. it gives me a good mind set to work. Ive just returned from a short trip to mountains. Awesome experience. I'll tell you why. Not just because of my bus jumping not below 50 mph during whole journey driven by a nearly drunken driver in a cold dark night at the mountain tops, also coz i finally figured out the answer to the most deadly question in my life. That guy was sitting next to me in the last lane of bus seats. I was talking to someone about some scandal of medicines. That guy took interest in our talk too and after a while he shot a series of questions onto me.

He: So your from Chandigarh??

Me: Yea

He: And about your studies??

Me: Well .. im a graduate in science. And now into Animation.

He: What is ani..mation???

Me: .................................

........ Oooh ... my...... GOD! Not this question again :-/

World stopped moving for me at that instance. I was looking into his curious eyes .. while he was looking at my face .. expecting a decent reply .. a bit embarrased of his general knowledge. I collected my experience of tackling this question from past 99999999 times. I replied after lots of thinking and seconds of pause ..

Me: mm .. animation?? .... Have you seen spiderman?? :)

He: .. spider ..mm .. wat??

Me: GOD!! ... mm .. Batman?? Superman?? Hanuman ..?? :O

He: .. hmm .. :-/

Me: .. :-/

Me: What do you do??

He: Im in army.

I relaxed back to normal state .. took a deep breath. I was glad after knowing he is an army guy. Coz atleast he had a valid reason for his illiteracy of the new trends unlike past incidents.

I replied him back.

Me: Well .. im an animator .. im a story teller .. i make animations .. i entertain people. Its like film making .. just the medium is computer.

Im sure he got nothing of what i explained :D watelse i could tell. Its the most difficult thing to explain a non-animation guy what is animation. This time i figured it out actually ... not the answer .. but the solution. Just explain it once .. and never bother if they dont get it :D If you know how to tackle this .. plz do tell me.

Its been a while since ive done something just for the fun of sketching. Completely random. No background story .. no hard thoughts. Just for the love of beautiful lines ;) Some people think what is fun in sketching or painting .. its such a tedious process. Well, the fun in everything starts once u get deep into it. Its like this .. when you go to watch movie in a theatre. Do you feel fun in driving through the heavy traffic to theatre?? Or fun in finding place to park your car in a rushy saturday night movie?? Nope .. but fun starts when you get into the theatre after the boring adv. So there is a lot of effort that you have to go through to have fun at the end. Same goes with sketching or painting or any other stuff. You must first understand how to get into it and must put efforts during that. Once ur deep in there ... u'll have lots of fun for sure ;) Here's the step by step till final render in photoshop.

This is life: Chapter 04 - Me and Mobile

Hey everyone! This is a story about a happy guy who used to live in peace untill the day .. a gang of crazy scientists invented one of the biggest revolutions of this era .. the mobile technology. You pretty much love mobile phones dont you?? I used to love mine too .. i was so happy the day i got my first personal phone "The Nokia 1108". Unaware of the aftereffects of using such a technology, i kept on enjoying it. Months passed by and one day it happened. I woke up in the late morning and went to bath and stuff ( WC :] ) and suddenly my phone started ringing. I kept on wondering who would be calling so i finished everything super fast and ran to pick the call.

Me: Hello!!

He: Hey! Where were you?? Im calling from past 5 mins.

Me: Well .. i just woke up.

He: If you woke up then why werent you picking it??

Me: well .. i was in the bathroom. You know .. the morning stuff??

He: Oo .. ok sorry i disturbed you.

Me: Thats ok ... but why were you calling me again and again?? I mean 1 call is enough i think to let someone know and moreover there is a missed call feature in every phone.

He: Yea you werent picking so i called again. I was wondering why arent you picking.

Me: So u didnt wonder that i might be busy into something??

He: Yea but you should pick the phone anyways.

Me: -.-"

That day i realised why they call it personal phone. Coz the phone is the ticket to your personal life. No matter where you are, no matter what your doing, people expect you to pick the phone in any case. If you dont .. you have to answer them why were you not picking it?? So now i had to answer people why i was busy. Who gave caller this much right to question what im busy into in my personal life .. perhaps the phone. That day my point of view changed towards my phone. I realised .. the thing is killing my personal life .. like a slow poison.

There are even some people who keep the phone next to their pillow so they dont miss even a single message. They are phone addicteds. Phone is their life. Reading SMS is their timepass. Then their are some who love watching MMS .. ( hmm lets skip this part :D). Then ive been asked one of the stupidest question ever by some one of the freakest of all mobile addicteds community ..

Addicted: So ambu where were u in the night .. u werent picking up the phone??

Me: hmm .. well lets see .. where could i be .. mmm .. how about this .. I WAS SLEEPING!

There is another instance thats totally strange. If you dont call someone .. he will assume that you dont remember him/her. Now someone tell me this .. how come remembering someone is associated with calling?? One thing i could never understand in mobile phones is the RED button. That is actually the ego button as believed by people. If you cut someones call with red button which means "Im sorry but im busy for some time. I'll call you back later", people actually get hurt .. can u believe? :D People take it like .. what the hell?? How come he cut my call?? 2-3 years ago .. i was like totally pissed from my cell phone so i stopped using it all the time. I actually restricted its use .. i used to put it on silent while working, while sleeping, while driving, while im enjoying my personal life, even while im to WC, while everything i thought is important. So my frnds were super pissed like hey why do u not respond to your phone, man throw your phone, when do u pick it?? But i didnt care .. i had no other way to set everything to place .. phone at its own place .. and personal life at its own. From that day i started saying my personal phone as just a phone coz it was no longer a ticket to my personal life. I still sometimes admire this small thing .. this amazing technology .. but people should learn about phone ethics so it never tears apart someone's personal life .. so you dont have to answer someone that i was in WC so missed the call. Peace.

This is life: Chapter 03 - The Passport Office

Its all about the day when i went to submit the application form for my passport. God bless the technology and the online application system that saved my hours of standing and waiting in a long line. You see .. if you apply online for the passport .. u dont have to join the waiting line coz u have a different counter for submission =] sounds great isnt it?? Well .. when i reached my counter, the waiting line was almost half of the usual line of the other counters. But it all began to get worse .. when people started rushing and mixing lines. I was watching them like a camera but didnt react. When i was close to the counter .. from nowhere jumped Mr. Smarty Senior Citizen. That Sardar Ji said " Ooh im a senior citizen plz let me go ..". Someone replied "So..?? Your out of line?? Your breaking the harmony." Sardar Ji said .. "i wont take long just let me go .. im a senior citizen" I thought in mind .. well why doesnt he realise that being senior means he should show more respect to the system, rules and regulations. If he cant .. using the title to exploit the system isnt the good way. Lines started merging to each other .. so i went to report that to guards. yea left my precious place in the waiting line, reported them and returned back just in time to notice that i had to join in the last now. Anyways .. i joined .. waited again .. again when i was about to reach the counter .. OMG .. DID I SEE THAT Mr. SARDAR JI AGAIN COMING RUSHING IN??? :O It was too rushy .. he couldnt reach counter .. and in 2 mins a guard came with big angry eyes :D and everyone went into a single line. I submitted the form and it was a happy ending after all.

Thoughts come later when u face such situations .. so they striked my harmonious mind system too. Why have people become so much selfish?? They think ... ooh just MY job should be done easily or in time .. then im happy. In buses people rush to find a seat .. ooh just I should sit comfortably .. who cares about others. What will happen to us if we ask, help or offer others .. the seats or the place in waiting lines .. may be a little bit of discomfort .. but are we so weak that cant even do this little to keep everything in harmony?? Let me try and practice to be Mr Nice Guy in such situations and hope others will be so too =]

Im new to painting .. actually very new .. and ive a very bad track record as far as painting is concerned :D But now i had to just move out of my area of comforts .. so tried this first hard brushed painting in PS. Result came out much crappier than i expected :/ nvm

Yea and digging deep into anatomy and figure drawing these days. My shading skills are worst in all so learning shading planes too :] Loomis ji ki bahot kripa hai =D

As my approach about animation is expanding .. i can see now that great artists are not great just because they are masters of their subject. They are great coz they are much more evolved than others and they use there art as a medium to portray their that evolved approach .. to bring it out for others to see.

I have so much in mind to write .. but i dont know where to start from. So .. mm Music? :D Why music coz it directly affects my mood in whatever situation i might be .. not just mine but everyones. I always thought about why music is so important for me and why does it affect my mood .. my state of mind ..?? Ofc if the question is so deep then the answer must come from something deep too. Spirituality answers it .. so now i understand that vibration is what forms everything around us. Now i know what is Primordial Vibration. Music is just another form of supreme conciousness.

So, i tried learning guitar coz its cool and i wanted to play it. Couldnt get enough time to practice it though :( but may be in future i'll find time to put some efforts to learn playing it :] There i find out that cool site to learn basics thats filled with hell lot of basic video tutorials and some intermediate too http://www.justinguitar.com/ These tuts by Justin really helps if

uve got time, patience and efforts for the art. Now then one fine day i saw someone playing Piano .. the BIIIIIG one. So i want to join the classes for piano too. Me and bro can then play together and have lot of fun :D And its really not a bad idea coz Guitar + Piano = intruments that rock together. So i was thinking to join the classes for paino too once im done with the job application stuff.

But learning piano without sharpened Vocal skills is heart breaker situation for me xD But obviouslly im NEVER EVER gonna have time to learn Guitar - Piano - Vocals. Well this is how life works .. uve got just 50-80 years to do wat u want =] I'll have to choose 1 from these 3. Lets see which one wins the chance to be carried on with my fun. For now its just time to move on to some studio and to jump into animation ^-^

Its fun ... i mean its toooo fun. Learning animation is wat i do all the time these days. Its fun how u practice, improve, learn new concepts, apply in ur work and u see ur work is improving rite in front of u. This is too easy just a matter of time hmm. Amrit bro (Amrit Derhgawen) taught me to practice 2d and it worked. So i spend almost all my time understanding it and "Pencil" has become one of my fav softwares. Its still under development but rocks for me!!

Hey! I couldnt get the time to write. But ive met so many people these days they just wanted to discuss this so i decided to write it here. Im not here to critisize anyone just becoz they feel good in what they believe but the point of my writing this here is just to make people think the way i want for 2 mins. This is a very very controvercial topic and people may eat me up for this :D but here goes nothing anyways.
So lets start another round of thinking and the point is WHY do we eat non-veg when we have a whole planet under our feet filled with every veg thing we can think of. The first thing thats coming in my mind is what is non-veg anyways??(stupid question) But even this is not clear to many. And they just play with definitions and belief according to their comfort. So lets freeze one definition here. Veg means all vegetables and plants etc and non-veg means all animals with flesh and blood etc. (Spare the egg from this for now :D) Hey here enters an old fella - "oo i eat non-veg and im fit. What so bad in it hmm??" Well thanks for sharing ur thought sir but its not about good or bad. Im talking about.. WHY .. do we eat it as we have to kill animals, we help in natures disbalance and their is a long list of diseases and probs coz of non-veg. Even then we eat it but WHY?
-1 coz its tasty?? : ya thats a good reason though. Ive heard humans are more tasty :D if u eat for taste u can even eat humans if they are tastier. No?? U wont eat humans?? Ok if u CAN eat animals but NOT humans even if they are more tasty means the reason is coz humans overpower animals. And if u can eat humans then u seriouslly need intense mental treatment. :D
-2 coz we overpower animals : Sure!! We are stronger so we have the rite to eat animals. But plz hear this lady first - " Help!! That MONSTER that lion is eating a guy over there. Oooo i cant watch this..??" Now go and salute that lion hes doing the same. Now why do u stop and hate him if hes overpowered. Its his rite.
-3 coz they are healthy and make u stronger : Shut up! We live in 21st centuary. We know pretty well wats more healthier and stronger. Its VEG. And if u still dont know about this go to www.google.com and read it all.
-4 coz we just want to eat it anyways.. its so yummy : If u just want to eat them, just because ur stronger, u can kill them and eat them for taste, WISH that they never overpower us. That would be the last day of human existence serisoully. Remember the scenes from movie "The Jurrasic Park".

Cmon, we are not stupid. We know we force kill animals for taste they dont want to die and get served on our tables. A huge population of those animals are killed everyday to throw their bodies in our tummies. We are monsters this way, we are still living under the famous rule of jungle, the law of nature. After all these developments, only the life-style has changed not the habits. Anyways i know even after reading this no one is gonna change their eating habits instead people might wanna taste me :D but i dont care.

I must stop now. Im hungry, i think my roasted chicken is ready.

This is what we have seen. This is all what we know. I know very well that power is related to negativity. Every second guy tells me this - "You have to be bad in this world if u want to succeed. U must think about urself first, u must be master of mind games." But is it really true??
Lets think on this a bit. Everyone believes that being good in this world will get u kickedout of every oppurtunity and success and in ur life as well. But what is this being good or being bad thing??I believe being good means ur honest, true and use positive abilities like patience, forgiveness, discipline, etc, on the opposite being bad means ur fake, selfish and use negative abilities. But how isbad related to power?? The boost in progress achieved through the wrong means is quick and easy. Wrong deeds evenspread terror sometimes and that fear gives an illusion of power. People choosing the wrong path are actually the ones who lack in patience and ability to put down there efforts for their goal and thats why they turn negative toachieve it easily and quickly but this is just an illusion of power and achievement and thus neither brings glory nor respect, neither power nor perfection, neither progress nor happiness. Just the illusions of all nothing more. So the people turning negative are not the powerfull but actually the weakest ones. Then why do good people are considered weak or idiots?? Thats because we meet many people in our life who are unsuccessful and they have done nothing wrong. They are not negative but still unsuccessful but have they done anything positive??? Are they usingpositive abilities in their life?? Perhaps NO!! Not doing wrong doesnt means your doing anything good, ur just NOT doing bad. And we think that these kind of people are positive coz they avoid negative. And some even turn negativecoz they think that being good is stupid, by looking at such people.. hehe. So why do we need negative if it gives nothing to us??
There will remain believes and disbelieves foreverand so will this positive and negative thing. We may feel we're strong coz we are negative but the STRONGESTwill be the one whos positive in every sense. But the choice to choose the path will always remain in our hands.

* The supreme knowledge teaches us to live for right not for what we feel good - coz what we feel good may not be right.
Think on this, coz i was living all my life for what i felt was good but really later on realised all what i felt was good, was not really right.

* A work is not done by waiting.
I was not even aware that i was waiting but i was doing nothing for my progress in life.

* Every thing seems difficult at start but by regular practice our state changes.
After knowing this nothing seemed dificult to me :)

ECO SYSTEM DISBALANCE!! X-[

Hey All!!
Now just a 3 days ago it was aournd 50 degree celcius here at chandigarh and now tonight im sleeping with my fan switched off. This eco system disbalance is really bothering me.
I was born in the month f October and it used to be cold but now i cant even feel a need to wear a jacket even around January. In the last winters, i survived at below zero degree temp nd hottest days in these summers were above 50 degree. Now we r waiting for the rainy season but i doubt it would be a relief from the hot. Actually it would be a relief frm summers but not a relief actually coz this disbalance thing will bring a lot f rain beyond our expectations nd thus life will be the same .. uncomfortable. Every corner f chandigarh will be under rain water i guess. This eco system disbalance is really bothering me.
Anyways, lets see how we tackle this prob but i really want to know about the solution. But i just know a simpe thing, if this is a global prob then it is a global responsibility. So wake up everyone!!
